Campaign posters of the former mayor of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije have emerged announcing him as the preferred presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in election 2020. The posters, which bear his photo has the inscription, “Our hope for 2020 Okoe Vanderpuije” but it is unclear whether Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije has a hand in the manufacturing of the posters which have flooded social media. A-G wants Ras Mubarak punished …over misapplication of GH¢215k

The Former Executive Director of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Ras Mubarak, should be held responsible for the misapplication of funds at authority, which was uncovered by the Auditor-General. The 2015 Auditor General’s Report indicted the NYA over the misapplication of the sum of GH¢215,100. The National Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sammy Awuku has said the decision to discontinue the mandatory tow levy was because Ghanaians did not like it. 90 illegal miners arrested in anti-galamsey operation

Some Ninety illegal miners who have been apprehended by government’s anti-illegal mining task force Operation Vanguard have been arraigned in various parts of the country. The miners were arrested in some illegal mining areas in the Ashanti, Eastern and Western Regions within a period of two weeks. The task force has also seized some equipment from the miners. Former President Jerry John Rawlings has proposed a radical approach towards dealing with filth in Accra.
