Litvinenko inquiry: Vladimir Putin ‘ordered killing’

Russian President Vladimir Putin “personally ordered” the killing of Alexander Litvinenko, the inquiry into the former spy’s death has heard. Ben Emmerson QC, for Mr Litvinenko’s family, said in his closing statement that Russian state responsibility had been proven “beyond reasonable doubt”. Mr Litvinenko’s widow Marina said she believed her husband’s “murderers and their paymasters” had “been unmasked”. Junior doctors to be paid Wednesday

  Accra, June 29, GNA – Sixty- four junior doctors out of the 91 who have not been paid their salaries for the past 11 months are expected to be paid today, Wednesday July 29, as promised by Employment Minister, Mr Harruna Iddrisu.   A 30-year-old man has been beaten up by a prostitute in Tarkwa, in the Western Region gold mining town for deliberately bursting his condom in use during the sexual affair between them. Gunman Who Stormed Mahama Church Jailed 10-Years

  An Accra circuit has slapped a 10-year jail term on the man who was arrested for possessing a gun at the church of President John Mahama last Sunday. The court passed the judgment after Charles Antwi, 36, confessed to a plot to assassinate the President and his family. He also told the court that he purchased the gun he intended to use for his crime from a Burkinabe in the Brong Ahafo region.
