National Security urged to change strategy of operation to deal with ISIS

  Security consultant, Captain Budu Koomson has urged the National Security to change its operational strategies in the wake of ISIS recruitments in the country. This according to him, is the only way to deal effectively with the emerging problem of Ghanaians being recruited into terrorist group, Islamic State. Investigations against CHRAJ boss on course – Nyamah

  ‘The Convener for pressure group, Progressive Nationalists Forum (PNF), Richard Nyamah, is convinced that investigations into the supposed misconduct of Lauretta Lamptey, the former Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) is progressing steadily. According to him, the five-member committee set up to investigate the former CHRAJ Commissioner will soon release its report on the matter. I’m committed to IMF’s plan – Mahama

  President John Mahama has stated that government will continue to regulate its expenditure as it aims to achieve fiscal consolidation within the three years under the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program. “We have a strong commitment and I have a personal resolve as President to achieve fiscal consolidation over the next three years in which we are in an IMF programme. Clashes at Germany’s Heidenau asylum centre alarm government

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has strongly condemned violence at an asylum seekers’ shelter that injured dozens of police officers. Security was increased at the newly-opened centre in Heidenau near Dresden at the weekend after two nights of protests. Left-wing activists staging counter-demonstrations have clashed with the right-wing protesters. Germany says it expects up to 800,000 to seek asylum by the end of 2015. Ghana earns $3b in revenue after four years of exporting crude oil

  Ghana has earned 3 billion dollars from oil since the beginning of commercial production in April 2011. According to the Petroleum receipts report, this money was earned from the country’s share of crude oil that was exported, as well as taxes paid by companies operating in the country’s oil fields. According to the report, 1.2 billion dollars was used to fund projects outlined in the budget. The Ghana National Petroleum Authority received a total amount of $908.28 million, equivalent to 30% of the total revenue. The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers CODEO wants the Electoral Commission to ensure a clean voters register for the 2016 elections. Teenage Pregnancy On The Increase In Wassa East

The Ghana Health Service has over the past three years recorded an increase in teenage pregnancies in the Wassa East District, with a total of 10,038 pregnancies out of which 1,645 are teenagers. The situation has been attributed to sexual exploitation of teenagers by small scale miners, irresponsible parenting, lack of sex education and family planning.
