Murdered Asawase NPP man was my personal friend – Nana Addo mourn

  The 2016 NPP flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo has described the murdered NPP activist, Abubakar Saddiq, as “a personal friend” as he mourned with the family of the deceased. At a ceremony to mark one week after his tragic death, Nana Addo said Saddiq was always close to his entourage whenever he visited the Ashanti region. He has donated GHC 2,500 for the funeral rites of Saddiq which has been slated for November 22,Joy News’ Ashanti regional correspondent Prince Appiah reported. Tema Motorway to be expanded from four to six-lanes-Terkper

  Finance Minister, Seth Terkper says the four-lane Tema Motorway will be expanded to six lanes to ease traffic on the road. Presenting the 2016 Budget Statement to parliament, Seth Terkper, said plans are ongoing to construct roads from the Tema port to the Motorway, which links the country’s capital to the industrial city, Tema. “Plans are far advanced to construct four container terminals, an access road from the ports to the Motorway and expand the Motorway from four lanes to six lanes,” he announced. Kennedy Agyapong apologises to Sir John

    Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has called on former General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, also known as Sir John, to forgive him for campaigning to get him out of the office. ‘Dead goat 2016 budget’ with little inspiration – Minority Leader

  Minority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has pooh-poohed on government’s financial statement for 2016, pointing to an uninspiring direction for a struggling economy. Finance Minister Seth Terkper who presented the 2016 budget statement Friday to Parliament enumerated plans to consolidate macro-economic gains and also revive Ghana’s economy which some economists suggest is in coma. Abedi Pele not interested in GFA Presidency

  Former Ghana international Abedi Pele has reiterated that he has no intentions of contesting the Ghana Football Association’s Presidency. Many have called on the former African footballer of the year award winner to consider taking up the FA Presidency in 2019. Incumbent Kwesi Nyantakyi is reported to be considering a move to contest the CAF presidency which would make him ineligible to head the Ghana football Association should he be elected as the new CAF President. Local Textile manufacturers blame industry’s ‘collapse’ on Gov’t of Ghana

  Local Textile Manufacturing Company Printex is blaming the government for the collapse of the textile industry. According to the Manager in-charge of administration at Printex, Moses Tetteh Zizzer, the Ministry of Education, abrogated a contract it signed with the company for the supply of fabrics for the government’s free school uniform programme.
