We won’t allow Ghana to be plunged into lawlessness – IGP

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) says the police administration will not sit by while the country degenerates into lawlessness. Mr David Asante Apeatu said the police will deal with all “social deviants” who perpetuate “cowardly” acts of impunity. Publish list of deleted beneficiaries – Minority challenges YEA

The Minority in Parliament is daring the Youth Employment Agency to publish the list of some 16,839 beneficiaries whose names were deleted last week. The opposition lawmakers said they are convinced the deletion exercise was deliberately done to rid the payroll of persons employed by the past administration. At a news conference in Accra Thursday, Deputy Minority leader, James Avedzi said there is no evidence to back the Agency’s claim that the affected beneficiaries are ‘ghosts’. “We are placing on record the Justin Kodua Frimpong management is complicit in the numbers being thrown into the media as ghosts,” he said. NPP’s Abronye DC quits

Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, the Brong Ahafo regional youth organiser of the New Patriotic Party, has resigned from the task force set up by government to retrieve state properties including cars in the hands of private individuals. Late Major Mahama’s phone retrieved from room of two suspects

Contrary to reports that Major Maxwell Adam Mahama was only lynched by angry residents of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region, reports reaching DAILY GUIDE indicate that the army officer was rather struck down by bullets. According to autopsy conducted on the late army commander, his assailants shot him twice before lynching him. Two bullets were lodged in his body, a pathologist at the 37 Military Hospital who conducted the autopsy, discovered. Major Mahama also suffered a fractured skull when the crowd descended upon him with cudgels, clubs, cement blocks and other deadly weapons. Denkyira-Boase DCE Fired

The District Chief Executive for Denkyira-Boase in the Central region Daniel Appianing has been relieved of his post, StarrFMonline.com has learnt. Seven suspects in Captain Mahama’s lynching remanded

Cape Coast, June 1, GNA – Seven persons arrested in connection with the lynching of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama were on Thursday remanded into prison custody by a Cape Coast Magistrate’s court. The plea of the suspects who have been charged with murder were not taken and would remain in custody till Monday June 19 for the police to further conduct investigations into the matter.
