The Communications Director of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Solomon Nkansah, has claimed that President John Dramani Mahama was sent by God to permanently end the recurrent energy crisis.
Speaking on Atinka FM’s Morning Drive hosted by Kwame Adinkra on Thursday, the controversial politician expressed optimism that the president will solve the energy crisis based on divine calling and asked Ghanaians to be patient.
“Mahama is the only person who can solve the energy problem and that is the reason why God sent him to us. I’m full convinced that he will end the crisis once and for all so that Ghanaians can go about their normal activities,” he said.
According to him, the “won gbo” demonstration staged by the opposition New Patriotic Party was needless, particularly when they failed to offer policy alternatives as far as the energy problem was concerned. He said as a government in waiting, the NPP were under obligation to tell Ghanaians what they would do differently to tackle the energy crisis.
Mr. Nkansah was of the opinion that the inability of the NPP to offer policy alternatives at the event, was an indication that, they were not ready to govern the country.
The NDC spokesperson also took the opportunity to take a swipe at the NPP presidential candidate, Nana Akufo Addo, accusing him of exhibiting traits of arrogance when he sat in his vehicle while the demonstrators were marching.
“For someone who claims to be a veteran of demonstrations, Nana Addo should have marched together with the demonstrators from the starting point,” he added.
